Sagem Morpho, Inc. Announces a New Performance Benchmark: MorphoAccess(TM) 500 Series Biometric Access Control Terminal

Leading Edge Physical Access Device Sets New Industry Standard

ALEXANDRIA, Va.-Sagem Morpho, leader in biometric access control and identity verification products, is pleased to announce the availability of the benchmark setting MorphoAccess(TM) 500 Series of indoor and outdoor biometric access control terminals. MA500 Series terminals feature dual-core ARM9 microprocessors with multi-thread processing capability, providing leading edge performance and versatility. The new terminals have internal database storage capacities of up to 50,000 records. All terminals in the MA500 Series feature a large area optical fingerprint sensor that is FBI PIV IQS certified and meets PIV FIPS 201 requirements. Versions are also available with internal contactless smartcard readers and fake finger detection.

Integrators and VARs will enjoy simplified field installation thanks to the MA500 Series' Power-Over-Ethernet capability, internal USB port for database and configuration management, and 10/100 BaseT with DHCP capability. To simplify terminal set-up and maintenance, a complement of administrative software tools are offered at no charge. Additionally, Sagem Morpho is available to assist partners with the migration from MA200 and MA300 terminals to the MA500.

System developers will appreciate the terminal's on-board security features that include a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for secure TCP/IP connectivity as well as antitheft and anti-tamper switches with status communications via TCP/IP. A Secure Access Module (SAM) interface is provided on the terminal's main circuit board for use in authenticating card credentials.

The MA500 Series may be deployed with the newly released MorphoAccess Enrollment Management System 6.2 (MEMS 6.2), or with proprietary applications developed by integrators and VAR partners. Proprietary Windows based applications may be rapidly developed to interface with the MA500 Series using the Morpho Integrator's Kit (MIK 3.2) with its Windows DLL components. Embedded applications may be developed to run directly on the MA500 to meet customer specific requirements by using the MorphoAccess 500 Software Development Kit (SDK) with its set of predefined terminal based DLLs. Also, to assist in development and ongoing maintenance, the MA500 Series is sold complete with a suite of seamlessly integrated software based management tools.

End-users will highly value the MA500 Series' quick authentication response time, its ergonomically designed LCD and backlit keypad interfaces, and its large platen biometric scanner. 1:1 authentication times are typically less than 0.7 seconds.

"The introduction of the MorphoAccess(TM) 500 Series provides new opportunities and reduced costs for integrators and VAR partners in the highly competitive, security and performance driven, physical access control marketplace. The terminal's dual-core ARM9 processor and multi-threading capability, comprehensive security and connectivity features, coupled with its advanced biometric technologies provide the speed, accuracy, and reliability required to set a new benchmark for performance in this marketplace," said James Conniff, Director of Access control Solutions at Sagem Morpho. "Having carefully listened to our partners, we worked to build this versatile device that will meet their present and future needs. Integrators and VARs will find the MA500 Series terminals to be easy to install, and end-users will find the terminals to be fast, reliable, and intuitive to use."
