Bendigo Bank Chooses NetQoS to Improve Network Performance

Fast-Growing Australian Bank Joins More Than 50 Large Organizations Monitoring 1,000 or More WAN Links Using NetQoS' Network Traffic Analysis Module

AUSTIN, Texas - June 20th, 2007 - NetQoS(r) Inc., a provider of network performance management products and services for large organizations, announced that Bendigo Bank (the Bendigo), headquartered in Victoria, Australia, has deployed NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer(tm) for network traffic analysis.

One of Australia's fastest growing banks, the Bendigo is adding approximately 30 branches per year. The Bendigo network team has a goal to integrate new branches - many of which are in remote communities with potentially expensive, low-bandwidth network connections - while keeping its costs competitive. This is a priority as the Bendigo works to maximize profits for the local communities that are partners in many branches. In addition, the Bendigo frequently rolls out new applications to support additional lines of business, further straining bandwidth and performance.

"Adding new sites and bandwidth-hungry, time-sensitive applications to the network is increasing our capacity needs as well as our responsibility to continue to deliver optimal business services to remote branches," said Malcolm Loftus, Bendigo Bank's IT infrastructure program manager. "As we grow, the type of traffic on the network is changing dramatically, and it is becoming imperative for us to prioritize traffic and prevent new applications from flooding the network. NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer has given us the network traffic visibility we need across all links to be proactive and to control the effective use of the network."

Specifically, the Bendigo will use NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer to monitor application rollouts, establish QoS policies, improve troubleshooting, and distribute bandwidth appropriately to improve application performance and avoid unnecessary WAN costs. For example, the Bendigo is in the process of rolling out VoIP to major business centers and will use NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer to monitor the deployment and mitigate any risks. ReporterAnalyzer provides enterprise-wide visibility into the composition of traffic on every link, enabling the Bendigo to determine VoIP's impact on the network and critical business applications, and to adjust QoS policies accordingly.

"We are proud to have Bendigo Bank join more than 50 other global organizations using ReporterAnalyzer to monitor 1,000 or more WAN links
- validating the product's unmatched ability to scale to the world's most demanding environments," said Scott Sherwood, vice president of worldwide sales for NetQoS. "Not only can ReporterAnalyzer provide immediate insights into all network traffic flowing between hundreds or thousands of remote sites, but it also enables customers like the Bendigo to easily analyze trends, patterns, and anomalies, and make the decisions necessary to optimize and improve application service delivery."

"The Bendigo's exhaustive evaluation to select NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer for its enterprise-wide traffic analysis fully validates our decision to be the supplier of this highly successful product line in our region.
GASystems is delighted to be part of the solution that assists Bendigo Bank in meeting its growth goals and exceptional service levels," said Wendy Anthony, marketing director of GASystems, which resells NetQoS products in Australia and New Zealand.

About NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer
NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer provides global visibility into wide area network traffic, enabling an understanding of how application traffic is impacting network performance. NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer captures a rich set of traffic statistics from Cisco IOS(r) NetFlow or other IPFIX-enabled routers and switches to identify which applications and users are using bandwidth, and when. Using this data, network managers and engineers make more informed decisions in troubleshooting and capacity planning. NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer handles the volume of flow data typical in the world's largest networks, providing real-time visibility into enterprise-wide network traffic and access to more than a year's worth of data.

NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer is a module of the NetQoS Performance Center, a Web-based management console that integrates end-to-end performance, traffic flow, and device performance data from NetQoS' products in customized views to help enterprises be more effective in capacity planning, troubleshooting, and service level management.
