New Battery Pack Increases Mobility

ROMER CimCore is pleased to introduce a Battery Pack that provides additional portability and freedom to operate ROMER portable coordinate measuring machines for extended periods of time without the need for AC power. This is particularly important when measuring, inspecting or reverse engineering work-pieces in-the-field, where AC power is not readily available.
The Battery Pack is a custom Nickel Metal Hydride type battery providing 12 volts and includes short circuit protection for the arm. It has a life of approximately 800 to 1000 charge-discharge cycles. The Battery Pack will power the arm for between 6 and 8 hours under normal conditions.
The battery has a Green and a Red indicator light that indicates the level of charge. The charge level can be checked by pressing a test button on the side of the battery pack. If the Green LED illuminates, the battery is charged sufficiently to run the arm. If the Red LED illuminates, the battery must be charged in order to safely run the arm.
The Red LED will automatically illuminate and stay lit once the battery falls below a minimum charge level. Once the Red LED illuminates you have approximately 1 hour of power available to run the arm but it is recommended that you immediately plug your arm in and recharge the battery. The Battery Pack's physical dimensions are approximately 5"x 4"x 2" and weighs 26 oz.
