Makita Introduces Two New Batteries w/ Built-In L.E.D. Lights
November 3, 2003 - Atlanta, GA - Makita USA, Inc., manufacturer of professional quality power tools and accessories, announces the release of the latest batteries with L.E.D. lights to join the eLuminate(TM) Series - Models 1435F (14.4V) and 1835F (18V). These two new batteries have joined the original 1235F (12V) model and at 3.0Ah, they are among the most powerful and longest lasting on the market.
The eLuminate batteries with L.E.D. lights increase efficiency by lighting the work area while requiring almost zero power from the battery. They feature L.E.D. (Light Emitting Diode) technology, which is a solid-state device (similar to a diode on a electronic circuit board). L.E.D.s have several advantages over a standard incandescent bulb: they are 3 - 5 times more energy efficient, they have a 10,000+ hour lifespan, and their components are virtually indestructible.
These new lighted batteries turn any Makita 12V, 14.4V or 18V pod-style tool into a convenient job light. This helps increase visibility on the user's workspace thus assuring greater accuracy. These batteries have an individual on/off switch and a retractable 4-position light beam angle setting, making it versatile and convenient to use on the tool or independently.
