BASF Showcases New Temperature Sensing Solutions at Glasstec 2010

BASF showcases new temperature sensing solutions at Glasstec 2010 Exactus® fiberglass bushing system delivers consistent temperature measurement Exactus® crown and bottom system enables stable and robust temperature control

ISELIN, NJ - BASF will introduce advanced thermocouple and optical thermometer solutions at Glasstec 2010, the world's largest glass industry trade fair taking place Sept. 28 - Oct. 1, in Dusseldorf, Germany.

BASF's Exactus® line of temperature sensing solutions provides insight that can drive better process yields and increased plant profitability. Exactus technology stands out because of its industry-leading speed, accuracy, repeatability and stability.

"Our Exactus gob temperature measurement system is a proven solution that has boosted container process line yields by over 0.4 percent and delivered payback times of less than eight months," said Don Watson, General Manager, BASF Temperature Sensing. "We are now expanding our Exactus product line to include temperature measurement solutions for both fiberglass bushing and crown and bottom furnace applications, leveraging BASF's patented pyrometer technology."

BASF's new Exactus fiberglass bushing temperature measurement system can eliminate uncertainty from bushing thermocouple drift and help deliver consistent temperature measurement.

The company's new Exactus crown and bottom temperature measurement system enables stable and robust temperature control for furnace applications.

BASF's thermocouple technology also offers proven performance in forehearth, melter bottom, crown, distributor, spout, stack, tin bath and Lehr applications.
