Metrologic Introduces Newest Omnidirectional Scanner The OrbitCG(TM) at NACS Show 2006
BLACKWOOD, N.J., Oct. 6 -- Metrologic Instruments, Inc. (NASDAQ:MTLG) announced today it will introduce its new omnidirectional scanner engineered to provide high-performance bar-code scanning solutions to North American retailers at the NACS (National Association of Convenience Stores) Show hosted by the Las Vegas Convention Center (Booth 8432) in Las Vegas, Nevada, October 8-11, 2006.
The Metrologic MS7180 OrbitCG combines patented CodeGate technology with many of the features that have made the original MS7120 Orbit model the company's best-selling small omnidirectional, hands-free scanner. With the push of a single button, CodeGate technology augments OrbitCG's patented 20-line scan pattern with a single-line mode ideal for targeted menu scanning.
Beginning in November, Metrologic's OrbitCG will be available for purchase throughout North America and Europe.

Other enhancements include a full power save mode, integrated EAS for tag deactivation and an extended depth of field to 275 mm. Additionally, OrbitCG now features the ability to communicate with Metrologic's patented MetroSet2 software via a built-in USB connection.
Based on the original model's award-winning design, OrbitCG's shape enables hand-held scanning of large, bulky items. For added flexibility, the scanning head can be tilted within a 30-degree range to accommodate objects of various sizes and shapes.
