Unibar(TM) Announces e-BARZ Pro(TM) 3.0

Allows UNIX., Linux., and NT Users & Developers To Create Bar Codes on Web-based Documents

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI -- August 1, 2003 -- Unibar, Inc., specialists in the development of bar code label design and printing software for UNIX and Linux operating environments, today announced the availability of e-BARZ Pro 3.0, an upgrade of its popular Web-based bar code printing software for UNIX, Linux and NT operating platforms. e-BARZ Pro 3.0 features CGI (Common Gateway Interface) and Command Line capability, enabling web designers to easily embed bar codes dynamically on any web page. The new product requires no custom programming and is compatible with all scripting languages including ASP (Active Server Pages), JSP (Java Server Pages), Perl and Cold Fusion.

"e-BARZ version 3.0 provides developers with the most robust product on the market today," said Ted Kruse, president of Unibar. "It provides even greater performance than previous versions with the addition of Ping images. The images are less than 10 % the size of Jpeg images and of the same high quality. The integration of EAN Application Identifiers also simplifies the work of generating these barcodes, especially the SSCC, since the human readable data is already formatted for the developer.

"New features in e-BARZ Pro 3.0 include:
o EAN Application Identifiers (AIs) and New Bar Code Types: Support for several commonly used AIs.
o PNG Image File as an Output: Although the default output format remains a JPG file, users can now explicitly select PNG (images are a fraction of the size of JPG) or JPG output.
o Check Calling Web Page, Reference Page: As an optional security check, this added feature is intended to prevent e-BARZ Pro from being accessed from an unauthorized Web page.
o UPC Human Readable and Descender Bars: UPC and EAN barcodes now print with descender bars and human readable text, at all orientations (90, 180 and 270 degrees).
o Maximum Length of Command Line or CGI Data String: The maximum length of a command line or CGI Data String has been increased from 510 characters to 2,048 characters, which is the maximum data allowed for a 2D PDF417 bar code.

Additional standard e-BARZ Pro 3.0 features:
As with other versions of e-BARZ, e-BARZ Pro 3.0 supports 2D (PDF417) and all major 1D symbologies including: Code 128, Code 3 of 9, UPC-A, UPC-E, POSTNET, Codabar, EAN-13, and EAN-8 for international requests.

Availability:
e-BARZ Pro 3.0 server licenses are now available with unlimited user & printer licenses. For a free demonstration, visit the Unibar Web site at www.unibar.com.
