Backbase Announces Visual AJAX Integration Project

Backbase and BEA Agree to Collaborate on an Integration Project Leveraging Backbase AJAX Development Framework and BEA Workshop(TM) for Creating Enterprise RIAs
SAN MATEO, Calif., Sept. 25 /-- Backbase, a leading provider of AJAX-based Rich Internet Application (RIA) software and solutions, today announced an integration project with BEA Systems, Inc. in which Backbase's comprehensive AJAX development framework will be integrated into BEA Workshop(TM) Studio. This integration project will be designed to demonstrate the ability of Java developers to leverage Eclipse for Visual AJAX Development using Backbase's comprehensive AJAX development framework. This integration project represents the beginning of the larger integration effort between the two products.
Today, most AJAX development takes place in text editors. As AJAX continues to mature, we believe there will be an increasing demand for visual development of AJAX applications, ideally from within the industry standard Eclipse environment. As winner of the 2006 "Best Commercial Eclipse based tool" award, BEA Workshop Studio is designed to be a perfect IDE for this type of development work. BEA Workshop Studio is also designed to add JSF-specific functionality to Eclipse, the Java industry's leading IDE, and this integration adds Backbase AJAX functionality on top of it.
