Original Press Release:
SUPERIOR INDUSTRIES PATENTED FD SERIES AXLE ASSEMBLY DELIVERS INCREASED EFFICIENCY, SAFETY AND MOBILITY FOR PORTABLE RADIAL STACKING CONVEYORS
MORRIS, MN - Morris, Minn.-based Superior Industries offers its exclusive FD Series Axle Assembly for use on its lines of portable radial stacking conveyors. This patented axle assembly dramatically reduces transport and onsite setup time. With its 22' footprint, the FD Series Axle Assembly provides maximum stability and increased safety for conveyors with lengths up to 150-feet.
Its hydraulically operated stacking wheels can be lowered into working position swiftly. The conveyor main frame can be raised and lowered while on the transport wheels, eliminating the need for expensive, high maintenance undercarriage compensation. With its totally enclosed hydraulic power travel package located on the stacking wheels, there is no need to connect or disconnect chain drives. Producers can simply lower the wheels to ready the unit for transport.
The FD Series Axle Assembly hydraulic power pack comes with electric motor, pump, reservoir, filter and control valves. The fold and power raise can be controlled from one location. Other features include air brakes, level gauge, walking beam suspension, and an extra control valve. Additionally, its fold-down wheels can be used to level the conveyor to assist in belt tracking. The FD Axle can be retrofitted to any new or existing conveyor undercarriage design and is available in a variety of sizes.
