Axium Inc to Showcase Robotic Order Picking Solution for Mixed Load Palletizing & Robotic Order Packing System for Mixed Case Packing at WERC Annual Conference

New ROP2000 & MP900 Robotic Systems Address Growing Demand for Mixed Load Pallets & Mixed Product Orders

Montreal, Quebec- Axium Inc. a leading robotics solution provider, today announced it will showcase its new robotic order picking solution and new robotic case packing system on its booth #360 at the WERC annual conference in Anaheim, CA May 16-19,2010. The ROP2000 is a fully automated all-in-one solution for picking and palletizing complete mixed load pallets. The system utilizes robots from ABB Robotics fitted with slim end effectors, intelligent Cube-IQ project planning software, conveyors and stretch wrappers to custom create pallets of product. The MP900 is a fully automated solution for packing complete mixed load cases. The system utilizes a series of ABB robots, the Cube-IQ software, and conveyors to custom pack mixed product into various cases, boxes and/or totes.

"We are very excited to be showcasing these two systems at this show," said Robert Jodoin, president of Axium Inc. "The ROP2000 is an extremely modular system that allows manufacturers to reduce inventory while shortening the supply chain process and optimizing valuable floor space and the MP900 system allows manufacturers to improve working conditions and reduce shipping costs and errors."

The ROP2000 system can quickly and efficiently build custom pallets while improving working conditions, operations and productivity. The solution's two articulated ABB robot arms pick products from in-feed conveyors and places them on a pallet that then descends to a stretch wrapper. The system uses Cube-IQ intelligent software to instruct the robots on specific product placement to build the mixed load. Axium's ROP2000 solution speeds time to market, allows retailers to better use floor space and reduce labor costs. With Axium's MP900 system the customer's orders are analyzed and the correct container is then automatically released into the system. When the container is presented to the robot the Cube-IQ software tells the robot which products are to be placed in what position.
