A collection of the most popular, innovative, and useful components released over the course of the past 12 months, as identified by Electronic Design editors and readers, the annual Top 101 Components list is compiled by first using Web traffic to rank the components featured on electronicdesign.com and in the Electronic Design "Products of the Week" 0e-newsletters, and then by surveying readers and tallying their votes for both overall favorites and favorites in several categories, including: accelerometers, connectors, enclosures, sensors, and switches. For the purposes of the annual survey, components are defined as anything that isn't memory or a device that executes a program from memory rather than as anything designed into an electronic product.
