For AVM at Cebit 2008 (4 to 9 March), everything revolves around connecting DSL to the new, faster WLAN N wireless technology. At stand C48 in Hall 13, the Berlin-based communications specialist will be presenting a new range of matching DSL WLAN N products, all based on a new platform. With this, AVM is creating the environment for the best possible use of DSL accesses with a high data transfer rate. The basis of the new product range is the AVM flagship FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7270. The new hardware architecture of this FRITZ!Box already meets the future performance requirements of demanding broadband users with IPTV and video on demand applications. This architecture is also the basis of the new FRITZ!Box WLAN 3270 being shown for the first time at Cebit. Also making its debut is the FRITZ! Media 8160; with WLAN N and HDMI access, FRITZ! Media offers films in HD quality. PCs and notebooks can connect via the new FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick N. And AVM's FRITZ!WLAN Repeater provides a small, standalone solution for even wider wireless coverage. All the new products can be seen live on our stand.

Better Use of DSL with the WLAN N Standard

For many users, the DSL connection is the source of their information and entertainment. A major part of this is the new wireless standard WLAN IEEE 802.11n (Draft 2.0). With its high data transfer rates up to 300 Megabits per second (gross) and the new transmission process MIMO, the WLAN N standard is ideal for handling data, voice and multimedia applications at the same time.

The new AVM products FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7270 and FRITZ!Box WLAN 3270, with their high-performance hardware architecture and integrated WLAN N standard, are perfectly prepared for the coming broadband trends. More than ever, FRITZ!Box will be the central data hub in your home. All FRITZ! products support WLAN N wireless connections in the 2.4 and 5 Gigahertz bands.
