Autotask(TM) Introduces AutotaskExtend(TM) and AXN(TM)

First Software Platform and Web Portal Offering IT Service Providers the Ability to Create New Applications to Improve Workflow and Increase Profitability
RENSSELAER, N.Y., July 10 / -- Autotask Corporation, a provider of web-based business management software for IT service providers, today announced a new integration technology called AutotaskExtend(TM) and web-based collaboration portal called AXN(TM) (AutotaskExtend Network(TM)).
AutotaskExtend is a set of tools, APIs and web services that allow technology solution providers to access Autotask data from outside the application, create intelligent links to other web applications, and even customize the Autotask user interface.
At the same time, the company has launched a new a collaboration portal -- Called AXN(TM) (AutotaskExtend Network) -- a web-site designed for the Autotask community of users, partners and developers to exchange the extensions they create, share best practices and access information to help them run their services business better.

"With these tools, even non-programmers can easily create buttons inside Autotask to launch third party applications with context-sensitive access. AutotaskExtend launches with a powerful free "starter kit"
AutotaskExtend is designed to provide Autotask's customer base of IT service providers with free tools and APIs to build extensions and applications off the Autotask IT services management software platform. The new offering is shipping today and includes four starter components:
* The Autotask LiveLinks Designer, which allows users to build intelligent
web connectors inside of Autotask. Users can also share their Autotask
LiveLinks on AXN for other users to install and use.
* The Autotask AutoForms Designer, which allows for the creation of
intelligent forms that can be placed on external web pages to
automatically submit data directly into Autotask.
* The ExecuteCommand API, which provides context-sensitive access to
Autotask pop-up windows and forms from third party applications and web
sites.
* Add-Ticket E-Mail Service API, which allows for the automatic creation
of Autotask service tickets from incoming e-mails.
"While our IT services platform is designed to handle most aspects of the service delivery process, we know there are many additional web-based tools and applications that our customers need to use," said Godgart. "Rather than try to be everything to everyone, we're opening up Autotask to our community of users and developers to create the integrations they need."
AXN Connects The Fast-Growing Autotask Community
AXN is a separate web-based portal that can be accessed directly from inside of the Autotask application, as well as from (www.autotaskextend.com). The main features of AXN include:
The Autotask Extensions Catalog -- includes a complete listing of all available Autotask extensions, whether written by Autotask or created by users, partners or developers. The site is launching with more than 50 extensions that are available at no cost. Autotask customers have the ability to install many of these extensions directly from the catalog into Autotask, as well as share their own extensions directly to the catalog.
AutotaskExtend Forums -- a members-only section of the web-site that allows Autotask customers to engage in discussions, share ideas, get advice and offer up tips to each other about how to run their businesses better.
AXN Blog Space -- a set of blogs that provide information, insights and inspiration for IT service providers who want to use AutotaskExtend to create and share their own extensions.
Technical Documentation and Reference Materials -- includes sample applications, APIs, user guides, quick start and sample source code.
