Original Press Release:

New Automatic Bar Feed Quickly Loads 18 inches through 6' Long Bar Stock For Optimum Speed & Safety

May 12, 2005 Cincinnati, OH - Quick Six is a new, compact, automatic bar feed for 18" - 6' long bar stock ranging from 5/16" to 3-1/8" in diameter. Designed and built by LNS, this bar feed promises quicker bar feed loading, faster turning speeds and 4-minute changeovers.

While 12' bar stock has long been the industry norm, it is widely known that 6' bar stock can safely turn at a faster RPM, thereby improving throughput. These smaller bars are also less likely to present bent bar and out of tolerance conditions. Unlike headstock length bar feeding systems, Quick Six requires fewer bar cuts, reduces remnants and provides longer periods of unattended operation.

Using the oil-based hydrostatic support system that LNS pioneered, Quick Six allows turning machines to operate at peak RPM. An easy-to-use menu-driven remote control, standard on all LNS bar feeds, prompts users through setups, and program data are stored on smart media cards for easy upgrades or changes. The standard chain magazine holds 8 pieces of bar stock and an optional side load rack and bar elevator holds up to 50, 6' bars to provide even longer periods of unattended operation.
