Lattice Technology Releases XVL Studio Ver 9.1

New and Enhanced Technical Communication and 3D Visualization Tools Deliver Advanced Functionality

San Francisco, CA.- Lattice Technology® Inc., the standard for technical communication and digital mock up software in the manufacturing enterprise, today released XVL Studio Ver. 9.1, an update to the industry-leading core authoring software for creating 3D manufacturing, service and maintenance data for use downstream.

XVL Studio is available in 3 editions - Basic, Standard and Pro - delivering enhanced levels of tools, options and functionality for processing 3D data into manufacturing data for illustration, process design, and validation. XVL Studio 9.1 has been released with an impressive range of new and improved features for process design, digital mockup, checking and visualization of 3D data, and preparation of 3D for immediate and productive use in downstream operations of many parts of manufacturing. Noteworthy improvements are evident in the improved tools for Ultra Large Data Handling (ULDH) that make it even easier for manufacturers to check, visualize and verify the accuracy of very large assemblies, create and test processes and to document those processes for downstream users.

In addition, streamlined, real-time measurement of parts in cross-section mode, and animation of individual tools and equipment, deliver more realistic visualization. New functions now make it easier and quicker to create concise illustrations and images with custom-defined annotations direct from 3D views.

New and improved features of XVL Studio 9.1 include:

Optimization of process animations: Process animations created in XVL Studio can now be optimized into even smaller file sizes, with faster save and opening times. This is a critical function for manufacturers with ultra-large data assemblies who need to fully optimize file sizes, and time spent opening files.

Support for Windows 7: XVL Studio will now operate on Windows 7 platforms.

Draft Angle Check: Quickly check and visualize draft angles in a 3D model, highlighting faces with insufficient draft angles.

Animated tools and equipment: Tools and equipment that have been added into a process can now be animated to check for interferences and to visualize how humans will use the tools during assembly.

Merging of different processes: Different processes applied to the same 3D data can be created independently and then merged into a 'master' process model for testing, line balancing etc. A new, more responsive man-hour graph also improves visual checking of authored process times against a standard time.

Parts list based on disassembly tree: Parts lists can now be viewed and easily edited based on the disassembly tree data, for fast creation of accurate sBOMs.

Enhanced measurement: New, streamlined methods for measurement of the 3D data allow for faster, integrated measurement across a model and real-time measurement on a cross-section.

Advanced illustration settings: Additional user controls on notes and dimensions for illustrations allow greater flexibility and options for note styles, colors, and how hidden trace lines appear in the illustration. In addition, 2D illustrations based on the 3D view can now be created.

Other enhancements include the ability to customize color maps, easier import and export of .CSV data, more streamlined editing of properties, and improved icons for cross-sectioning tools that all deliver easier and faster use of XVL Studio for users.
