AUSA 2012: ESC BAZ to Exhibit New Capabilities for the MAX, Universal Hand Held Control and Monitoring Unit for Surveillance Cameras and Binoculars

The company signed an agreement with a leading European integrator for the global marketing of the MAX control and monitoring unit

The company also announces its selection for the installation of its AVIV short-to-medium range surveillance system, with its revolutionary Very High Sensitivity Thermal Camera, at a sensitive site in an Asian country

Kibbutz Einat, Israel - ESC BAZ - a leading provider of advanced surveillance, observation, and reconnaissance systems for defense, security and HLS applications - introduces its new generation Universal Hand Held Control and Monitoring unit - MAX II, with enhanced capabilities. The company has signed an agreement with a leading European integrator for the global marketing of MAX, which will be showcased by ESC BAZ at the AUSA Annual Meeting, October 22-24 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington DC, in the Israeli Pavilion, Hall B, Booth 1964. The company also announces selection of its AVIV short-to-medium range surveillance system with its new Very High Sensitivity Uncooled Thermal Camera - at a sensitive site in an Asian country.

MAX II - Universal Hand-Held Control and Monitoring Unit
MAXII is a Multi-Functional Command and Control solution for surveillance cameras and binoculars that can be integrated with most industry leading remote observation systems available in the market. The compact control unit with integrated 8.4" LCD display and DVR is optimized for enhanced situational awareness, providing precise and easy control of pan-tilt and CCD/thermal camera functions. The versatile MAX II offers intuitive remote surveillance and observation operations with the most advanced night-vision cameras and binoculars - ensuring force protection in critical missions.

New features include a built-in DVR that supports 2-channel simultaneous recording, each channel independently, in full frame rate and display of two independent video signals both LIVE and RECORDED, in 3 configurable modes of Picture-in-Picture (PIP). Among the MAX II's additional features are fast forward and fast rewind in variable speeds up to 20x; custom bookmarks during recording, "GO-TO" the specific bookmarks during playback, plus the ability to save each bookmark and download as a JPEG snapshot picture (via PC); and, automatic pre-trigger saving of video to memory for up to 20 seconds, ensuring that critical events are not lost.

AVIV - Short-to-Medium Range Observation and Surveillance System, Selected by an Asian MoD
The AVIV system is a modular platform that provides 24/7 surveillance for critical assets such as army bases, airports, harbors, power & chemical plants, oil refineries, prisons, and borders. The system includes a CCD day camera, the new LAYLA uncooled thermal imager for night vision, and a zoom controlled spotlight, all installed on a motorized SMART Pan-Tilt unit.

The company recently sold dozens of AVIV surveillance systems to an Asian MoD for installation at a highly sensitive site. The systems - selected from among a number of competitors following an extensive testing and evaluation process - were chosen due to their very high sensitivity thermal sensor, built-in digital video stabilization, and advanced continuous zoom lenses. The new generation LAYLA high-performance, uncooled detector arrays - with 17 µm pitch, extended spectral response, and Very High Sensitivity (VHS) - enables recognition of human targets at ranges beyond 3,000 meters. It brings the uncooled infrared technology very close to the performance of traditional second generation cooled detectors.

According to ESC BAZ CEO, Mr. Benny Zviran, "We are pleased to present our latest technological developments at this exhibition. New generations of MAX and LAYLA will be on display - featuring exceptional technological capabilities, all of which were developed in-house. Some of these capabilities are unique to our products, making them our customers' preferred solutions. Both the winning of a project to install dozens of AVIV systems - as well as the signing of a cooperation agreement with a leading European integrator for the marketing of our systems together with their observation systems - is evidence of customer satisfaction with our products."
