Audi Forum in Germany Equiped with Almost Invisible Smoke Detectors

Bosch Security Systems has equipped the Audi Forum in Neckarsulm with a state of the art fire detection system. The almost invisible 500 Series smoke detectors were chosen because of the sophisticated architectural design of the new customer center.
The glass, steel and aluminum building is flooded with light and provides fascinating insights into the world of the Audi brand. Traditional smoke detectors would detract from the overall impression. That tipped the balance in favor of the new smoke detectors from Bosch, which have already won numerous international awards. They do not impair the building's aesthetics and yet provide optimum early detection of fire hazards.
Bosch developed the 500 Series automatic smoke detectors especially for use in buildings of high architectural quality. Thanks to their flat design and flush installation in ceilings or walls, all any observers can see is the smooth, sealed detector cover. Interchangeable color inserts enable these to be matched to the color of the ceiling. This makes the detector almost invisible.
The 500 Series detects smoke with two external detection areas and does without the normal internal measuring chamber. To analyze the scattered light measurements, Bosch uses specially developed signal processing technology. This is the result of years of research and experience and guarantees extremely reliable detection. One version of the 500 Series detector is also equipped with (CO gas) carbon monoxide sensors. This increases the interference resistance, particularly in critical environments, for example where dust occurs.
Bosch has already equipped the entire Audi Neckarsulm site with fire detection equipment. More than 15 000 fire detectors in 300 LSN loops monitor the safety of the workers and buildings. They are specially designed to meet the varied requirements of a modern production facility.
