ATM Expands Custom Molding Service Offerings to Include Liquid Silicone Rubber Capabilities, Production Beginning In February 2010

CLEARWATER, FL - American Tool & Mold, the Southern States Premier Tooling and Plastic Injection Molder, today announced that it is expanding its service offerings to include Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) tooling and molding operations.

American Tool & Mold is responding to a growing demand in this sector. Demetre Loulourgas, President of American Tool & Mold, noted, "...observing the thermoplastics parts that are manufactured, you will see how many projects include a Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) molded component..."

"We have hired Marshall Strang as LSR Operations Manager. Marshall will be overseeing all Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) operations at American Tool & Mold. From assisting with sales quotations, hands on tooling design and fabrication as well as part production. Marshall will follow each project to ensure the best quality of all Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) products made by American Tool & Mold." Loulourgas added.

Silicone rubber has been around since the 1960's. It has grown in popularity in recent years especially in the medical, automotive, childcare and commodity markets. Items such as seals, kitchen utensils, bottle nipples, and Sippy Cup valves are now made of silicone. Silicone is known for being inert, stable, biocompatible, hypoallergenic, and having a wide temperature range, among other properties.

According to Phil Gaitan, ATM's Director of Sales and Marketing, "these additional capabilities will begin immediately for tooling with molding capacity beginning in February 2010. I am pleased to announce that American Technical Molding will be expanding our molding capabilities by adding new Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) Injection Molding Machines for use in a clean room environment."
