Stand-Alone XR1000 Low End Appliances Feature New Panel Design and Upgraded Hardware for Improved Stability and Increased Concurrent Calls Support

Xorcom announced today that it has released its new and improved complete Asterisk-based VoIP PBX for small businesses, the XR1000(TM). Xorcom is a privately-held manufacturer of business telephony hardware solutions based on Asterisk® open-source software.

The XR1000 is an Asterisk-based PBX system supporting various combinations of FXS, FXO and BRI ISDN telephony ports, for a total of up to 16 analog phone ports and up to 8 BRI IDSN ports. Upgraded hardware in the new version allows each model in the series to support up to 50 users and 10 concurrent calls, irrespective of the codec used. Powered by a Celeron 1.2 GHz processor and featuring a 4GB Single Layer Cell (SLC) Disk on Module (DOM) for mass storage, the unit is pre-loaded with the Elastix(TM) Asterisk distribution and supports standard Internet upgrades, making it an extremely cost-effective solution for the long term, and setting it apart from other Asterisk-based appliances that use proprietary technology.
