Arrayit® SpotWare(TM) Colorimetric Microarray Scanner Offered by Terra Universal

Fullerton, CA – The SpotWare Colorimetric Microarray Scanner allows digital microarray images to be scanned, analyzed and stored in a desktop computer. A flatbed scanner equipped with a template aligns the microarray substrates for image capture, and Windows XP operating system-compatible software gives users control over scan resolution and data management.

Alkaline phosphatase or horseradish peroxidase are used as labels to enhance or amplify the DNA, RNA, protein, antigen or antibody microarray signals.  This is a more economical alternative to using fluorescent labels. The scanner reads up to twelve slides in a single scan, but chromatic detection of other substrate sizes and formats can be acquired, including plates, blots and gels. Scanning resolution can be adjusted between 5, 10, 20 and 50 micrometers.

Images for quantitation and analysis are captured in color, and a field- and button-based user interface makes operation and analysis fast and easy to navigate. Images can be imported into any standard microarray analysis program. The unique scanning technology eliminates background interference from light.
