Schréder Lighting US Unveils BOREAL; a Refined, Artistic Architectural Luminaire for the Outdoors
Elk Grove Village, Illinois - Raising outdoor architectural lighting to the next level, Schréder Lighting US General Manager John Camp has announced the introduction of BOREAL. From refined, artistic architectural lighting to durable luminaires that withstand the harshest elements of tunnel, DOT, and transit environments, Schréder Lighting is the epitome of quality and distinction.
The BOREAL, designed by Laurent Fachard, is an outdoor luminiare designed in the style of translucent paper lanterns. The BOREAL is especially suited to the urban entertainment by creating a playful, festive atmosphere. The outer drum is a perforated mask crafted of brushed stainless steel that is offered in three designs: Foliage Mesh, Branches Mesh, and Circles Mesh. Cyan or Magenta dichroic filters can be added to the internal lens to create striking color effects. Depending on the application, the BOREAL can be designed as a single or twin configuration with die-cast aluminum arms.
The BOREAL includes an internal lamp module constructed of aluminum, with a clear acrylic refractor lens that offers a high degree of protection from the elements with an IP rating of 66. Three captive screws on the fixture allow access to the lamp and control gear that is mounted on a removable plate. The outer drum is crafted of perforated, brushed stainless steel.
BOREAL uses energy efficient 70- watt or 150-watt T-6 metal halide lamps with Type 5 symmetrical distribution.
The BOREAL is available with a sand blasted finish in Black. The powder coat finish's chemical composition provides a highly durable UV and salt spray resistant finish in accordance to the ASTM B117 standard and is humidity proof in accordance to the ASTM D2247 standard.
Straight round, tapered and bottleneck poles are crafted from either aluminum or steel.
Without the pole or bracket, the BOREAL has a height of 33.1 inches and a diameter of 24 inches.
