Apptix Introduces New On-Demand Collaboration Offering, Fully Integrated into its Existing Service Management Platform

SharePoint-Based Service with Self-Signup capabilities to Enable Turnkey Project Management for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses

HERNDON, Va., Nov. 9 / -- Apptix, a premiere provider of on- demand, managed messaging and collaboration solutions for small and medium- sized businesses (SMBs), today launched SMBLive, a new Windows SharePoint- based offering for collaboration, project management, sales support, customer service and related mission-critical business applications. SMBLive, developed by a key technology partner of Apptix, will initially be available in North America from Bell Canada. Bell Canada is also introducing new self-signup capabilities for this application, as well as their hosted Microsoft Exchange offering.

"We have found that small and medium-sized businesses in some industries have the most clearly-defined needs for collaboration capabilities within and outside their organizations," said Apptix CEO Amir Hudda. "SMBLive offers an integrated suite of out-of-the-box solution templates that significantly enhance the value of Windows SharePoint Services. Our strong existing partnership with Bell Canada made them the logical first choice to introduce the service."

"Most small and medium-sized businesses require a more intuitive, template-based approach to project management (and other fundamental business collaboration processes) than the capabilities found in traditional collaboration software products that are currently available to larger, more IT-savvy enterprises," said Peter O'Kelly, Senior Analyst, Burton Group. "In addition, business partners serving this software-as-a-service segment can significantly benefit from self-signup capabilities which help to automate customer acquisition and administration."

SMBLive is based on Microsoft(R) Windows(R) SharePoint(TM) Services, which allow customers to create Web sites for information sharing and document collaboration, increasing individual and team productivity. The service offers the following modular solutions:

o Project Management -- An integrated platform for coordinating secure document management, integrating tasks, events and calendars across multiple, distributed teams and mobile employees, and administering access and authority controls to protect sensitive data.

o Sales Support -- A single solution that synchronizes, automates and streamlines marketing and sales teams in the functions of campaign management, lead management, opportunity management, forecasting and sales reporting.

o Customer Support -- The tools and systems to centrally manage customer accounts, contacts, issues, support requests and projects.

o Extranets -- An automated solution for rapidly designing, deploying and then effortlessly managing the customer and partner Extranets required for cross-organization communications and collaboration.
