Appligent Releases PDF Foundry, PDF Creation from PostScript and TIFF Data Streams
The Leading PDF Software Company Adds Creation to Its Popular Append/Publishing Family of Software Components
LANSDOWNE, Pa., July 18 -- Appligent, Inc. (http://www.appligent.com/), the leading provider of Portable Document Format (PDF)-related software solutions, today announced the release of PDF Foundry, the company's first application to provide enterprises with a solution for creating PDF documents from PostScript(R) and TIFF data streams.
PDF Foundry is a server-based application that generates documents in Portable Document Format from Adobe PostScript(R) or Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) files. In addition to creating new documents PDF Foundry can correct malformed PDF and add encryption and document information to existing PDF files.
PDF Foundry also includes an easy-to-use, Windows-based administration utility that generates XML files that configure the application and set the output parameters that optimize the file depending on whether the PDF is destined for a high resolution printing press, online delivery or somewhere in between.
"Today's corporate workflows include print output, scanned images and more often malformed PDF from various sources," said Michael Karbe, president of Actino Software. "Appligent's PDF Foundry is a production grade solution for companies with demanding requirements that exceed the quality or capacity of shareware or open source solutions. PDF Foundry offers exceptional value to the power user compared with other products in this class."
Like all Appligent's components PDF Foundry is accessible via an XML-based SOAP interface with our APConductor utility or the standard command line interface. Since PDF Foundry runs on Windows, Solaris and Linux, it can be integrated into virtually any production workflow. Developers can easily use PDF Foundry in conjunction with other Appligent software components such as AppendPDF Pro, StampPDF Batch, FDFMerge and SecurSign to build powerful document processing solutions in demanding high availability production environments.
PDF Foundry is part of Appligent's Appending/Publishing Family of products. Appligent has five other families covering the spectrum of PDF manipulation that include Forms Processing, Stamping, Security, Redaction and Utilities.
PDF Foundry is available for purchase at www.appligent.com/. For more information on PDF Foundry or for possible discounts on multiple product purchases or OEM agreements, please contact the Appligent sales team at 610-284-4006 or sales@appligent.com.
