Recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Electronic Design and Groundbreaking Innovation
ORLANDO, Fla. – API Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:ATNY) ("API" or the "Company"), a leading provider of high performance RF/microwave, power, and security solutions for critical and high-reliability applications, today announced that it has been recognized by Electronic Component News (ECN) with two 2014 ECN IMPACT Awards, presented during the Electronic Distribution Show (EDS) held earlier this month.
Judged by panel of industry experts, the awards recognize outstanding achievement in electronic design and groundbreaking innovation.
API took top honors in the Power Sources and Conditioning category for the TPS75, a 75 Amp commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tactical power supply for military applications. API’s most recent addition to its power products offering, the TPS75 supports power-hungry applications, such as RF and mobile networks, while eliminating or reducing the need for tactical vehicle-based power. When fielded, the TPS also reduces fuel consumption and wear and tear on vehicles by eliminating run time to support powering fielded special ops equipment.
As power demands grow, soldiers struggle to deliver critical power when and where it is needed. The API Technologies designed and manufactured solution offers soldiers the power and portability they need to reliably meet mission requirements. 2014 year to date, the Company has received over $3.5 million in new orders for its Tactical Power Supply products.
The Company was also recognized in the Contract Manufacturing Innovation category for its medical electronic manufacturing services (EMS) offering. In 2013, API added the ISO 13485:2003 medical certification to its extensive list of quality and military certifications.
