Stackpole Expands ASR / ASRM Series Anti-Surge Thru-Hole Resistors
RALEIGH, NC – Stackpole Electronics' ASR / SPR Series of anti-surge metal film resistors has expanded to include a mini ¼ watt body size. The ASRM14 has a max working voltage of 500 volts, overload voltage of 1000 volts, and capacitor discharge surge withstanding up to 2000 volts 10 times. In addition, the ASR / ASRM Series have single square pulse handling that is more than 3 times better than comparably-sized metal film resistors.
The ASR and SPR Series are ideal lower cost replacements for ceramic composition and carbon composition resistors where the pulse voltage capability of the resistor is critical or where the inherent inductance of wirewounds is undesirable. In addition, this series is popular for high voltage power supplies, medical applications, plasma cutters, test systems, and circuit protection.
The ASR / ASRM Series is available in resistance values from 10 ohm to 12 Mohm. Power ratings range from ¼ watt to 2 watts and 5% tolerance is standard. Pricing is size and resistance value dependent and ranges from $0.045 to $0.22 each in full reel quantities. Contact Stackpole or one of our franchised distributor partners for volume pricing.
