Lab-Buddy - Convenient Fiber Input Photodetectors for up to 60 GHz Bandwidths

Description: The Lab Buddy is the best friend your scope ever had. It simplifies adding optical front-ends to network-vector analyzers, oscilloscopes and RF power meters. Utilizes Discovery Semiconductors' ultra-wide bandwidth InGaAs PIN photodiodes. You can capture optical modulation with bandwidth from DC to 12, 16, 22, 35, 45 or 60 GHz. Built-in Lithium battery supplies bias voltage, coaxial connector attaches to the scope input and users' fiber optic cable connects to the built-in receptacle.

Features:
- Robust package eliminates accidental damage to fiber pigtails
- Convenient FC fiber input
- Built-in Lithium batteries power unit for years of normal usage
- Two bias voltages for low/high input optical power levels
- Eliminates biasing errors
- Male or female, type K or V coaxial output for scope compatibility
- Compatible with Discovery InGaAs photodiodes for DC to 6,10,14,18, 22, 32, 42, 55, & 70 GHz bandwidths

Applications:
- Lab instrumentation module for O/E conversion of:
-- Optical pulses w/rise times of 30 to 5 ps
-- RF over fiber in X, S, C, Ka, K, Ku, V or W bands
-- Sonet/SDH data at 2.5, 10, 12.3, 40, 43, 49 Gb/s

- Use in busy or student labs

- Use with:
-- Network Vector Analyzers
-- GHz Oscilloscopes
