JX-P420 Series Low Cost NEMA 4X Loop Powered 4 to 20 mA Position Transducer
January 9, 2003, Corvallis, Oregon...To complement its existing line of analog and digital position transducers, UniMeasure announces the JX-P420 series analog output transducer for the
measurement of linear position. The JX-P420 series is a low cost, compact device for use in light to moderate duty position measurement applications in wet or dry environments. With a corrosion resistant thermoplastic body, the device is ideal for high volume OEM situations where cost is a major consideration and in applications where small size or low weight are of paramount importance. The 4 to 20 mA output facilitates use in electrically noisy environments.
The transducer is actuated by extending a stainless steel wire rope which is maintained in constant tension by an internal spring that also serves as the retraction mechanism. Using a potentiometer as the sensing device, the unit outputs a loop powered 4 to 20 mA current. Because of the wide adjustment range, the zero and span controls allow adjustment to give a full 4 to 20 mA output over just 50% of the overall travel range. The 4 to 20 mA transducer is easily interfaced to PLC's, digital meters and data acquisition units.
