Analog Input Board provides high-density DAQ solution.

Press Release Summary:

Analog input layer/board, DNA-AI-207, features 16 differential input channels with max sampling rate of 1 kS/s per channel, 18-bit resolution, and 11 input ranges from ±10 V to ±12.5 mV FS. Seventeenth channel is provided for measuring Cold Junction Compensation sensor. Along with input offset auto-zero, which removes offset fluctuations over time and temperature, board features oversampling engine that lets it oversample inputs and automatically average them in real time.

16-Channel, 18-bit Analog Input Board for UEI's PowerDNA Cube

Canton, MA: August 01, 2006 - United Electronic Industries (UEI) announces the release of the DNA-AI-207 analog input layer/board. The new board features 16 differential input channels with maximum sampling rate of 1 kS/s per channel (16 kS/s aggregate for the board), 18-bit resolution, and 11 input ranges from ±10V to ±12.5 millivolts full scale. A 17th channel is provided for measuring the Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) sensor in thermocouple applications. The board provides exceptional value and represents an ideal solution for making precise DAQ measurements

A unique and powerful feature of the DNA-AI-207 is input offset auto-zero, which removes offset fluctuations over time and temperature. This reduces the temperature drift to a few microvolts over the full specified range of 0 to 85 °C. Another great feature, the oversampling engine, allows the board to oversample inputs, automatically average them in real time, and dramatically improve system noise performance.

"The PowerDNA Cube has been very popular in a wide variety of applications" according to UEI President Shaun Miller, "The addition of this new high performance analog input board will allow the PowerDNA cube to address many new low-level measurements.." Up to six DNA-AI-207 boards may be installed in a single Ethernet based PowerDNA Cube, providing up to 96 input channels in a rugged, compact, 4" by 4" by 6" device.

About the PowerDNA Cube
PowerDNA (Distributed Networked Automation) is a compact (4 x 4 x 4" or 4 x 4 x 6") Ethernet based data acquisition and control device. Each PowerDNA Cube consists of a core module (that holds the processor and network interface) along with three or six open I/O slots or layers. Users configure their system by selecting appropriate I/O boards from UEI's extensive offering of analog input (with resolutions of 16, 18 or 24 bits, inputs to 100V or 0-20 mA), analog output (to 40V), digital input/output, counter/timer, CAN bus interface, multi-port RS-485 and RS-232, and power conversion.
