AMILOY® Materials Qualified to API 6A F1.13.5.2

HOUSTON, TX — Technetics Group Recently, Technetics Group's AMILOY® PTFE and PEEK materials (Grade 6, 9, 10, 15, 16, 21, 23) passed the requirements of API 6A 'Specification for Wellhead and Christmas Tree Equipment' section F1.13.5.2.

AMILOY® brand grades are high performance, custom PTFE and PEEK compounds designed for critical sealing applications required for extreme environments.

Technetics Group tested AMILOY® materials, following the API 6A immersion testing procedure, in a hydrocarbon fluid (diesel) charged to 1,000 psig with a hydrogen sulfide gas mixture (10% H2S / 80% CO2 / 10% CH4) heated to 200°C and exposed for 160 hours. The exposure was performed to determine the effect of this chemical solution on the material mechanical properties. After the exposure the specimens did not show any visible surface damage.

Some general observations of the resulting data from these specimens indicate the mass and volume changes increased but not by more than 2.3% and 3.3%, respectively. The materials were given a pass designation based on a percent change < 20% in hardness, ultimate tensile strength and % elongation at break.

PLASTIFLEX™ Spring-Energized Seals

Technetics offers a complete line of spring energized plastic seals for severe environments in Oil Gas, Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, and Industrial Valve applications.

Helical Spring Energized Plastic Seals

The helical spring configuration is ideal for corrosive chemical, high pressure, high temperature, and other environments when fluid sealing is critical.

Benefits:

• Temperatures from cryogenic to 500°F (260°C)

• Pressures from vacuum to 25,000 PSI (1700+ Bar)

• Very low leakage

• No degradation of properties over time

• Widest range of sealed media including caustic chemicals

• FDA approved material and configurations possible

V-Finger Spring Energized Polymer Seals

V-Finger spring energized plastic seals are used for dynamic seal applications when friction of the sealed joint must be controlled.

Benefits:

• Temperatures from Cryogenic to 500°F (260°C)

• Very low friction in dynamic applications

• Pressures from vacuum to 25,000 PSI (1700 Bar)

• No degradation of properties over time

• Widest range of sealed media including caustic chemicals

• FDA Approved material and configurations possible

Advance Pitch Wire Spring Energized Polymer Seals

Advance pitch wire wound springs allow long spring travel to accommodate large changes in the seal gland cross section where the sealed joint motion is severe.

Benefits:

• Temperatures from cryogenic to 500°F (260°C)

• Pressures from vacuum to 5,000 PSI (350+ Bar)

• Very low friction in dynamic applications

• No degradation of properties over time

• Wide range of sealed media

• Wide gland tolerance capable
