AMAG Technology's Symmetry Software Portfolio Becomes FIPS 197 Certified
Torrance, CA, September 2, 2010 - AMAG Technology, a security management and digital video solution provider, announces that its Symmetry Security Management software portfolio has obtained Federal Information Processing Standard 197 (FIPS 197) certification.
FIPS 197 is the US Government specification for the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has set up a validation program for the AES implementations that includes passing the Advanced Encryption Standard Algorithm Validation Suite in a NIST National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program accredited Cryptographic Module Testing laboratory.
Considered a benchmark for security in government, FIPS 197 is used by Federal departments and agencies when security information needs cryptographic protection. Symmetry's FIPS 197 certification meets the requirements of numerous Federal government customers.
