Oct 30, 2007

TEL AVIV, Israel, October 30, 2007 - Alvarion Ltd. (NASDAQ: ALVR), the world's leading provider of WiMAX(TM) and wireless broadband solutions, today announced that it is working with Intel Corporation and MTN Rwanda to provide WiMAX(TM) Internet access to a new computer lab at the Fawe Girls' school in Kigali. The high-speed wireless network supports two initiatives, Intel's World Ahead Program and a public-private sector initiative called Connect Africa, focused on bringing the benefits of technology to the people of Africa. With a relationship of over three years, MTN Rwanda is Alvarion's local partner for this project, meant to provide the developing regions of the world equal opportunities to communication and information.

Supporting the World Ahead Program, Alvarion's WiMAX solution will be used to connect the new Intel donated computer lab to the Internet. The students will enjoy Internet access and other data services, in support of the school's aim to foster math and science education among girls. This project is part of Intel's initiative for enabling affordable connectivity and stimulating economic growth, employment and development, while extending broadband access, especially to developing countries.

WiMAX based on Alvarion's solution will give students in Kigali high-speed access to the Internet and the broad base of knowledge it offers: It will connect them with their peers in other parts of the world and substantially improve their educational opportunities," said Gordon Graylish, Vice President, Sales and Marketing Group at Intel, deputy General Manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

"We are proud to take part in this important project, aimed at bridging digital divide, and present our innovative WiMAX solutions to various governments," said Rudy Leser, Corporate Vice President Strategy and Marketing of Alvarion Ltd. "Participating in Intel's World Ahead Program, adds another dimension to our relationship with Intel and demonstrates Alvarion's values of both social and technological innovation."
