AKS Cutting Systems Plasma Cuts ½" Bolt Ready Holes in 1" Mild Steel
AKS Cutting Systems demonstrated live cutting of ½" diameter bolt ready holes in 1" thick mild steel at the recent Fabtech 2011exhibition. This significantly exceeds the current industry standards of plasma cutting cut bolt ready holes in mild steel with a 1:1 ratio of hole diameter to material thickness.
This break though in plasma hole cutting technology is enabled by the superior and responsive motion capability of the AKS precision plasma cutting system in conjunction with the AKS robo-kut bevel head. This extremely responsive motion system can bevel small holes compensating for the inherent kerf angle associated with current plasma cutting technology.
