New Extra Heavy Duty Piston Air Operated Valves

Erie, PA - April 9, 2007 - High Pressure Equipment Company has added to their extra heavy duty Hippo Piston Air Operated valve line with new orifice sizes, maximum operating pressures and air pressures. These piston air operators provide remote automatic on/off valve operation in maximum operating pressures of 10,000, 20,000, and 30,000 psi with orifice sizes of 7/16, 9/16, and 11/16 inches.

The new valves have been added to both the normally closed (air to open/spring to close) and the normally open (spring to open/air to close) services. HiP air operators can be controlled by means of an air regulator, an electric solenoid, or a manual low pressure valve in the user's air supply line. There are optional carbide, ceramic or Stellite (for cyclic service) stem & seat materials available as well as PolyPak packing.

Normally open valves require approximate air pressures of 45, 50 and 55 psi to seat the valve. The normally closed valves require an approximate air pressure of 35, 45, 50 and 55 psi to unseat the valve, 60, 70, 85 and 95 psi to fully open the valve and a minimum adjusting screw torques of 60, 75, 90 and 95 ft. lb. depending on the valve series you require.

High Pressure Equipment Company maintains an inventory of Hippo Piston Air operators for use with many standard valve styles and connections.
