Stotz USA Introduces Our New Air Column with Webserver Capabilities

The new Webserver Air Column incorporates the latest technology in Air Gaging using Linux software.

The Air Column (Tradename: MSG) can be used with in-process and post process air gages, as well as be used to evaluate other gage signals such as analog or digital inputs. The MSG has a built in Ethernet port that can be used to network with other MSG air columns or as an independent node on your company's intranet. This allows you to have the measuring results stored on your SPC software. The MSG can be connected to a PLC to integrate your manufacture process into a seamless operation. The column uses Java to provide real-time measuring results that can be viewed by any PC on your network or any PC in the world that has access to your network. The results are viewed as a web page in your standard Internet Explorer, Netscape, or other Internet browser. This feature allows the MSG to be serviced remotely from anywhere in the world, which reduces the service time required.

The MSG air column supports up to 4 pneumatic channels or 8 LVDT channels simultaneously. It has a repeatability of 0.0001mm (0.000004"). It requires minimized air consumption (1.5m³/hour/per channel) and requires a constant pressure of only 3 bar (43.5 PSI). The display can be customized to the customer's requirements. The air column can store 18 different programs and is designed with quick coupling pneumatic connectors, so switching from one air gage to another is extremely fast and easy.

The MSG is typically used to measure diameters, lengths, or tapers. It can be used to measure roundness, straightness, parallelism, and most other geometrical tolerances. Air gaging is used primarily in the Automotive and Aerospace industries.
