Aepona announces Extensions to Causeway Solutions Suite to Further Support Operators' IMS Evolution Strategies

New version of class-defining software supports more revenue driving applications
28th March, 2006 - Aepona, the developer of server and application software for telecoms operators worldwide, has announced further developments of its Causeway solution - already in use by major fixed and mobile operators worldwide including Orange, KPN, Sprint and Vimpelcom.
The company, which has been a pioneer of standards based enabling products for rapid application roll-out, has announced that its market leading Causeway solution now has even greater session initiation protocol (SIP) support.
The new version of the product allows operators to get closer to their objective of IMS (IP multimedia subsystem) based networks and the promise of richer, value based services built on packet-switched technologies.
According to Michael Curran, VP Market Development, "the new version of Aepona Causeway is even more compelling for operators that want to add rich media services to their service offerings. Causeway now supports, for example, VoiceXML. This means that new multi-party call conferencing can be enabled using the SIP/IMS architecture. However, the really exciting thing from the operator point of view is that the IMS services can be made available to existing legacy networks. For example, RingBack Tones achieved music mixing at call setup. Aepona has achieved music mixing mid call.
