ADSI Releases New Cost Saving Measures

Automatic updates of UPS fuel surcharge, automatic identification of residential or commercial addresses and AES for international shipments prevents unnecessary charges resulting in millions of dollars saved.

Hoffman Estates, IL, December 17, 2008 ADSI announced today the release of 3 key new cost saving features into the industry's leading multi-carrier shipping solution, ADSI Shipper. All features are fully integrated into the software providing speed, accuracy and cost savings.

One of the features is the automatic updates for UPS fuel surcharge. "With the price of gas continuously fluctuating, companies are not able to adjust quickly to take advantage of decreasing gas prices," said Phil Terman, Director of Product Services. "With ADSI Shipper's automatic fuel surcharge, the multi-carrier shipping solution updates the rates as soon as UPS releases the adjustments." Customers have realized significant cost savings since implementation.

Another feature embraced by companies is the automatic identification for residential or commercial addresses. Companies continue to lose unnecessary revenue being unable to accurately identify if an address is a home or business. "The built in intelligence allows companies to schedule routes more efficiently and realize the actual revenue without taking a loss due to inaccurate shipping rates," continued Mr. Terman. The misinterpretation of a business instead of a residence can cause incorrect assessment of shipping costs. "This can mean the difference of a profit or loss on the shipped item(s)."

Finally ADSI has fully integrated the AES for companies shipping internationally. The paper SED has been replaced with the electronic filing of AES, which involves a time consuming online filing process. The new Federal Trade Regulation went into effect July 2, 2008 and has the potential to cost up to $10,000 in fines if the AES is filed incorrectly or not filed at all. "ADSI recognized the significance of AES for our customers and completely automated the process eliminating filing errors that can result in costly fines." concluded Mr. Terman.
