Adhesive Film develops bond strength up to 4,500 psi.

Press Release Summary:

Structural B-staged I2202F Film is available as thin as 1 mil and cures in 60 min at 150°C. Unfilled product offers chemical, heat, and moisture resistance and is thermally and electrically isolating. It can be filled with thermally or electrically conductive fillers for thermal management, EMI/RFI, or solder replacement applications. Film is suited for difficult-to-bond metal substrates such as gold, invar, and nickel as well as engineering and LCP plastics.

Original Press Release:

High Bond Strength B-Staged Adhesive Film For Difficult-To-Bond Substrates

Billerica, Mass. - July 12, 2005... TechFilm Corporation has introduced I2202F, a high performance structural B-staged film adhesive capable of developing up to 4500 psi bond strength on difficult to bond metal substrates such as gold, invar, nickel and engineering and LCP plastics. Partially cured, 100% solid B-staged adhesives are an alternative to liquid adhesives and solders for highly intricate industrial and electronic bonding applications.

Unfilled TechFilm I2202 offers good chemical, heat and moisture resistance and is thermally and electrically isolating to stop the migration of heat and electricity. TechFilm I2202F can also be filled with thermally or electrically conductive fillers for thermal management, EMI/RFI, or solder replacement applications.

Available in sheet, perform or roll formats as thin as 1 mil, this film is ideal for applications where size and thinness of the final part is critical, for example stacked parts and miniaturized components. Actual applications include piezoelectric devices, ultrasonic sensors, and print heads.

This amber adhesive cures in just 60 minutes at 150ºC.
