ADAST Demonstrates Quick Makeready with Automated Registration at Graph Expo 2007

Chicago; July 2, 2007 - ADAST a.s. (www.adast.com), a leading manufacturer of affordable multicolor offset printing presses, will for the first time in North America demonstrate its new, automated AdaRegister(TM) Control System at Graph Expo 2007 (Booth #3836) in McCormick Place, September 9-12, 2007.

The new AdaRegister option uses a specialized high-resolution CCD camera and proprietary software developed by ADAST to quickly align all printing units and achieve faster job setup with near-perfect registration. Cutting makeready time by up to 20% and significantly reducing paper waste enables ADAST users to produce print jobs faster and more profitably, particularly on short-run multicolor printing.

The new AdaRegister system is available factory-installed or as a field upgrade to any ADAST 507, 707 and 807 Series press equipped with the AdaControl 3 Console.

At Graph Expo, ADAST will demonstrate the new AdaRegister system on an ADAST 747P 4-color perfecting press equipped with the ADAST AdaControl 3 computerized press console and other automated features that make up the firm's "Automation Affordable" package.

"Offering a simple and precise way to detect and correct misregistration on ADAST's entire line of sheetfed presses enables our customers to benefit from an exceptional feature that can contribute significantly to winning more jobs and producing them more profitably," said Antonn Karsek, Director of R&D, ADAST.

"Our new AdaRegister Control System is a prime example of ADAST's dedication to provide printers with high-quality, affordable sheetfed offset printing presses equipped with advanced features. The high level of ADAST automation, quality and efficiency makes it not only possible but practical for ADAST customers to compete aggressively for short-run print jobs while being perfectly positioned to accommodate the long print runs that other printing methods can't touch."

"Automation Affordable" Features Also Showcased
ADAST will also use Graph Expo 2007 to showcase its "Automation Affordable" package that includes the AdaControl computerized press control console, semi-automatic plate changers with Bacher registration, automatic blanket washers, automatic ink roller wash-up with auto-spray, and compatibility with industry standard CIP3-PPF and CIP4-JDF files and workflows.

This strong reliance on automation promotes fast make-readies and overall productivity, enabling ADAST customers to compete aggressively in the market for quality offset color.

Special ADAST accessories (including optional easy-changeover perfecting and an in-line aqueous coater equipped with hot and cold air knives, IR dryer and circulator) increase productivity, speed turnaround time and extend the scope of jobs that can be printed on an ADAST press in a single pass.
