Overview

Features of IBM Rational® Ada Developer and Ada Embedded Developer Enterprise Editions V4.4 include:

· PowerPC® platform Ada cross compilers available on the Red Hat and SUSE LINUX(TM) operating systems (hosted on the Intel(TM) x86 platform)

· Improved compilation performance and optimization

· Improved Ada runtime performance and optimization

· Expanded support for new pragmas to better control code compilation optimization

· Improvements in the Ada editor to allow for more efficient viewing and editing of Ada code

· New integration with the LynuxWorks LynxOS-178 real-time operating system, used by industry-leading avionics manufacturers

· Static semantics and legality checks related to the Ravenscar safety-critical profile

Key prerequisites

For the Solaris platform:

· Solaris 2.6, 7, 8 or 9

· Any SPARC or UltraSPARC platform (32 bit or 64 bit)

· Minimum 256M memory

· 2 GB HDD

· 1024 x 768 screen size minimum

· GNU Utilities gunzip and gtar installed and on the path (for installation only)

For the Linux platform:

· Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9, or SUSE 9.1

· Pentium(TM) III, or higher

· Minimum 256M memory

· 2 GB HDD

· 1024 x 768 screen size minimum
