Aculab to Demo Telco-Grade VoiceXML/CCXML

4th February 2008, Milton Keynes, UK - Aculab, a leading provider of enabling technology for the communications market, is pleased to announce that it will demonstrate a new version of its VoiceXML/CCXML interpreter software at its annual partner event, Aculab Communications Exchange (ACE) 2008.

Aculab's VoiceXML/CCXML interpreter software is unique in the market place by providing telco-grade functionality. Linear scalability, N+1 redundancy, support for a range of telecoms protocols, including SIP, H.323 and SS7, remote OAM&P capabilities and low cost per channel - all create a matchless functionality set required by fixed and mobile telephony service providers. The VoiceXML/CCXML interpreter software, used with Aculab's media processing platforms, allows developers of VoIP and PSTN telephony services to implement standards-based interfaces to a wide range of applications including interactive voice response (IVR), voice portals, conferencing services, voicemail, unified messaging platforms and prepaid services.

The use of interpreter software significantly speeds up the application development process by eliminating the need to develop with native product APIs, providing faster time to market, while reducing the associated costs. Designed to operate with a range of Aculab's media processing and signalling platforms in various form factors, the interpreter software allows the seamless scalability of solutions from one to thousands of channels, active call redundancy with automatic failover to ensure no active calls are lost and supports integration with 3rd party speech engines (TTS, ASR, SVI). The product is recognised by communications solutions developers as providing the highest operational performance and call interactions throughput of thousands of channels per single host. The software package from Aculab delivers an unbeatable value to telephony service providers. It provides both VoiceXML, used for creation of interactive dialogues between the caller and the telephony server, and CCXML, which is used for call control and allows intelligent call routing and outbound dialling, under the same low cost software licence.

"Aculab's ACE event is a unique opportunity to learn about new technology, see it in action and network with the lead developers that created it", said Herman Abel, Product Manager at Aculab. "VoiceXML and CCXML are going to be key topics at the event, educating the delegates on the best practices for leveraging new technology to address the challenges of their business."

Aculab's annual global partner event, ACE, will take place from 31st March to 2nd April 2008 in Scottsdale, AZ, USA. The event, which includes presentations from guest speakers, who are respected industry experts and opinion leaders, will address key topical issues including: VoiceXML/CCXML, intelligent and next generation networks; security; distributed and services oriented architecture; SS7/SIGTRAN; SIP and H.323. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about how Aculab's product roadmap and future developments fit into these key areas.
