Chanhassen, MN - January 5, 2006 - The Exlar I Series electro-mechanical actuator with its proven roller screw technology offers you electromechanical reliability, motor flexibility, and a significantly longer operating life than a ball screw actuator - and it costs less.
The I Series offers users the choice of motor brand and type - brushless servo, stepper, DC or AC motor. Input transmission options include direct coupling, parallel belt and pulley drive, and in-line planetary gearing. Removable and adjustable mounting features, combined with the T-Nuts and Bolts of the most popular modular machine frame components allow the user to mount the I Series in nearly any machine
configuration with ease. Mounting options include side brackets, side lugs, pivot attachments, or side trunnions.
Exlar's I Series is offered in two mechanical grades to optimize the performance to your requirements as well as system cost. The IM Series offers mechanical capacity suitable for the lower forces (up to 4000 lb)and cycle rates achievable by stepper, DC and AC motors and is available at an appropriately lower cost.
The IX Series actuator provides maximum capacity to utilize the full performance of a brushless servo motor from any manufacturer for rapid cycling applications requiring long life.

The I Series actuators are available in 2, 3 and 4 inch frame sizes with stroke lengths from 2 to 18 inches. An integral planetary gear reducer of 1:5, or 1:10 is optional. Standard features include anti-rotation and IP54 sealing. Optional features are IP65 sealing and external limit switches. The standard product is anodized aluminium and optional coatings include electroless nickel.
