Actuator and Ball Spline come in mini and micro sizes.
Press Release Summary:
Measuring 65 mm wide, Mini Actuator Type RDM reaches speeds of 5 m/s and accelerations of 9 G. At 10 mm/s, speed ripple is less than 11%. Max thrust power is 59.7 N, and continuous thrust power is 8.0 N. Micro Ball Spline Type LT features 2 gothic grooves and low rolling resistance that allows for increased stability. It is suited for harsh environments, as nut, shaft, and balls are all constructed of martensitic stainless steel.
Original Press Release:
THK to Unveil Mini Actuators and Micro Ball Splines at IMTS
Schaumburg, IL - (September 1, 2004) THK has again successfully miniaturized products from its proven line. THK's new Mini Actuator Type RDM and Micro Ball Spline Type LT demonstrate THKUs commitment to engineering innovation.
Lightweight and only 65 mm wide, the Actuator Type RDM reaches speeds of 5 m/s and accelerations of 9G. At 10 mm/s, speed ripple is less than 11 percent (in a sampling frequency of 100 Hz). Maximum thrust power is 59.7 N; continuous thrust power is 8.0 N.
THK's Micro Ball Spline Type LT features two gothic grooves, and the world's smallest nut and diameter lengths. Low rolling resistance allows for increased stability. The Type LT operates with a high transmission of torque. This type is ideal for harsh environments, as its nut, shaft and balls are all constructed of martensitic stainless steel. The Type LT also offers excellent anti-corrosion characteristics.
THK is expanding their product offering to include larger and smaller sizes as well as new materials and technology to achieve superior results in the most demanding applications.
