Redlake Introduces Cooled Camera for Demanding Scientific and Industrial Applications

EC11000 Unique Design Separates and Isolates Electronics from Sensors Cooling Path

SAN DIEGO , CA - July 2005 - Redlake announces the launch of its newest camera, the MegaPlus II EC11000, an actively cooled industrial camera. Unique in its features, the EC11000 separates and isolates the camera's primary electronics from the sensors cooling path. It features a fan optional design, which allows it to operate in cooling modes with or without a fan accessory attached.

The latest addition to Redlake's MegaPlus II camera family, the EC11000 is the actively cooled version of the popular 11MP ES11000. It supports up to five frames per second (FPS) at 12-bits per pixel. Using Peltier cooling, both dark noise and thermal drift are significantly reduced, making the camera the perfect solution for the most demanding scientific and industrial applications.

"The EC11000 merges Kodak's high resolution 11MP image sensor with active cooling technology, resulting in stunning image quality," said Jay Kelbley, product manager for Redlake.

The design intent enables us to maximize cooling of the sensor without a fan - opening up new opportunities for customers who would not have previously considered a cooled camera due to fan vibration." We expect the EC11000 to dramatically increase the quality and productivity of our customer's workflows," said Kelbley, adding that e ach MegaPlus II camera head is designed with unique features to target specific customer applications.

"With the EC11000 we are able to satisfy the ever increasing image quality demands of our current customer base, as well as expand into new growth markets," said Keith Russell, director of marketing for Redlake. "The introduction of the EC11000 gives Redlake the most comprehensive high-end product range in the industry, with Redlake offering a high speed or industrial camera for nearly every possible application."

The MegaPlus II EC11000 camera will be available for delivery in September 2005.
