ActiveGrid Powers e-Directory for Puerto Rican Department of the Environment

Web 2.0 e-Government App Delivered by RedBoricua

SAN FRANCISCO, June 14 / / -- ActiveGrid, Inc., a leading provider of Enterprise Web 2.0 solutions, today announced that the Puerto Rican Department of Natural and Environmental Resources has deployed an e-directory application built using ActiveGrid.

The Department of Natural and Environmental Resources of Puerto Rico is a government agency responsible for actively protecting the natural resources of the island. RedBoricua was awarded a contract to develop a web based portal for this government agency.

The purpose of the project was to make it easy for the general public to find the right people to talk to within the Department. The system replaced a paper-based directory, making department information accessible over the web, while also using ActiveGrid's role-based security to keep internal department information secure.

"The two words that describe ActiveGrid are simplicity and robustness," said Angel Berrios Davila, president of RedBoricua. "It is amazing how fast one can develop a database driven application with Active Grid!"

"ActiveGrid's rapid prototyping and development tools give systems integrators like RedBoricua a compelling technology edge," said Cal Ball, VP Alliances for ActiveGrid. "This is a perfect example of an application where delivering a Web 2.0 prototype along with the proposal gives ActiveGrid partners an unfair competitive advantage."
