Acoustiblok Sets STC Record: Spells Profitability for Distributors

January 5, 2006. Tampa, Florida. Acoustiblok's revolutionary sound barrier material set the highest lab-test Sound Transmission Class (STC) record for any construction material. Results just-in for the ASTM-E90 classification test are the highest the lab has ever recorded. They were achieved by installing Acoustiblok into a common block wall assembly. Testing was performed by Architectural Testing Inc. of York, Pennsylvania. "We have never tested a wall assembly that achieved a rating this high. The highest wall we've ever tested was STC 67. Both the STC 70 and 85 ratings for Acoustiblok exceed the testing capabilities of most laboratories," explained Kurk Golden, who oversaw the lab testing at Architectural Testing Incorporated.

Acoustiblok's new lab results spell profitability for distributors. An STC 70 rated wall that is only 12 ¾" thick is now possible and easily achieved. "This new data further supports Acoustiblok's quality and integrity. We see doors opening in green school construction, multi-family housing and commercial development. We're simply the most affordable and easiest to install sound-reduction product on the market. Now we have broad UL Classification and STC testing to back us up. When you add in a perfect 10 mold-test score and Acoustiblok's huge profit potential, it's a no-brainer. Acoustiblok is simply the best 'soundproofing' material available," explained Michelle Cooke, Marketing Director for Acoustiblok Inc.

A cost-comparison analysis created for Trump Towers of Tampa shows Acoustiblok affording a savings of $15.00 per sq. ft. while drastically improving STC. Acoustiblok was promptly specified in the Trump Tower's plans. Acoustiblok sound isolation material offers broad UL Classification, significant cost savings, maintains fire ratings and achieves record-setting STC levels with a fail-proof design.

Acoustiblok sound barrier is the closest one can get to absolutely soundproofing a room without building it in a vacuum. These STC Ratings are exclusive to Acoustiblok and have not been achieved by any other construction material. "The Sound Transmission Class (STC) is a single-number rating of a material's or assembly's barrier effect. Higher STC values are more efficient for reducing sound transmission. For example, loud speech can be understood fairly well through an STC 30 wall but should not be audible through an STC 60 wall." The fact that Acoustiblok has achieved an STC of 85 is literally unheard of. Acoustiblok is the only consideration for anyone serious about eliminating a loud noise source from their environment.
