StingRay Optics Introduces SuperBand(TM) Lens Series



o SuperBand Lens Series offers achromatic imaging over broad spectral bands extending from visible to far-infrared wavelengths.

Keene, NH - StingRay Optics, developers of custom optical solutions, introduces the all refractive SuperBand(TM) Optic. The superspectral achromatized lens series is designed to keep pace with today's rapidly developing detector technology. The new lens assemblies offer achromatic imaging over a wide spectral region, from visible to far-infrared wavelengths. The SuperBand Optic is an ideal solution for systems comprised of multiple sensors, stacked focal plane arrays (FPAs), or emerging dual-detector arrays via a common aperture approach.

StingRay currently offers three SuperBand lens assemblies, including 25mm, 50mm, and 100mm focal lengths. They are designed for use with cooled detectors offering an F/2.5 cold shield arrangement and are also well-suited for use with the 640 x 512, 15µm FPA formats. Other SuperBand lens configurations available include options for dual FOVs designs, varying F/# systems, large format FPAs, and alternate sensitivity ranges.

The revolutionary SuperBand products will debut at SPIE's Defense Security and Sensing (DSS) 2011 Exhibition, from April 25-29, 2011 at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort & Convention Center, Orlando, FL. Jennifer Myers, StingRay Optic's Sales and Marketing Manager, will demonstrate how a single SuperBand lens assembly can be used with an InGaAs, InSb, and/or QWIP- based detector. The 30-minute product demonstration is scheduled for 1:30PM, Wednesday, April 27 in the Cypress Exhibition Hall.
