Able to withstand environments up to +900°F, Series 600B13/B14 includes side-exit charge mode sensor, 10 ft hermetically sealed hard-line cable, and integral ICP® charge amplifier for power generation monitoring applications. Shear mode sensing element provides optimal performance for dealing with transient temperature changes and spiking. With frequency range of 282-240,000 cpm (4.7-4,000 Hz), Models 600B13 and 600B14 feature sensitivity of 100 mV/g and 10 mV/g, respectively.

Original Press Release:

New IMI Sensors High Temperature Accelerometer Kit for Vibration Measurement in Gas Turbines

Application specific solutions for Gas Turbine Monitoring.

Depew, New York, USA - IMI Sensors, a division of PCB Piezotronics, Inc., announces the worldwide launch of the company's 600B13/B14 high temperature accelerometer kits for vibration measurement in gas turbines. These high temperature accelerometer kits include a side-exit charge mode sensor, 10-foot integral hermetically sealed hard-line cable, and integral ICP® charge amplifier for multiple power generation monitoring applications, including placement on turbines, exhaust systems, and piping in extreme heat environments of +900°F/+482°C.

The new shear mode sensing element of the 600B13/B14 provides significantly improved performance for dealing with transient temperature changes and spiking, a common condition in gas turbines. In addition, by incorporating an integral sensor, cable, and charge amplifier in a single high-temperature accelerometer kit, gas turbine operators have a complete measuring chain that eliminates contamination and common mode noise concerns. The integral ICP® charge amplifier allows for use with standard data acquisition equipment.

IMI's 600B13/B14 kits are designed as drop-in replacements for existing accelerometers with ARINC® three-point mounting bases, and have a higher temperature range than many competing sensor types. Model 600B13 has 100 mV/g (10.2 mV/(m/s²)) sensitivity and Model 600B14 has 10 mV/g (1.02 mV/(m/s²))sensitivity. The wide frequency range for 600B13/B14 is (±5%) 282 to 240000 cpm (4.7 to 4000 Hz), making them ideal high temperature accelerometer kits for the measurement of gas turbine vibration.
