New Submersible Accelerometer for General Purpose Vibration Measurements

Chatsworth, California - January 19, 2009 - Dytran Instruments is pleased to introduce a new general purpose accelerometer for underwater vibration measurements. Model 3217A has a sensitivity of 100 mV/g and was specially designed for submersible applications with a factory molded urethane boot and urethane cable. This rugged IEPE accelerometer features shear design ceramic seismic elements for high natural frequency and ruggedness. An on-board miniature IC amplifier converts the very high impedance voltage signals from the crystal to a much lower impedance level which allows this instrument to drive long cables with negligible signal loss.

Model 3217A features a hermetic seal, adhesive mount and weighs only 5 grams. It is electrically isolated from the mounting surface to avoid annoying group loops which can cause spurious signals to interfere with the measurements.
