New Omron Inverter's On-Board Communication Lowers Cost and Saves User Time
SCHAUMBURG, IL (June 26, 2002)-The new 3G3PV commercial AC inverter from Omron includes important on-board communication. The communication protocols of Metasys® and Apogee(TM) are built-in, and, in addition, a DeviceNet option card can be used. These protocols reduce upfront costs and save user time. The 3G3PV also features RS-422 and RS-485 communication. The four line engineering display on the 3G3PV provides the user with more information and makes it easier to follow steps. The 3G3PV is also cost-effective because it is more efficient and uses less power than dampers, which allows the user to save money. For example, with the 3G3PV, only 50% power is required at 80% flow.
With the 3G3PV's removable terminal strip, if the drive needs to be replaced for any reason, or the user wishes to upsize or downsize, the wiring can be left intact. In addition, the 3G3PV's faceplate is split and the keypad can be used with access to the terminal strip. The new high-slip braking feature of the 3G3PV effectively slows the inverter down and since no dynamic braking resistor is needed, the user can reduce cost and space.
This new inverter is available in 230VAC and 460VAC, from .75 to 125HP in 230VAC, and from .75 to 500HP in 460VAC. It is UL, cUL and CE compliant. The 3G3PV is ideal for variable torque commercial and HVAC applications. Variable torque applications include blowers, fans and pumps. Typical HVAC applications include office buildings, schools and hotels.
