Deep Groove Seal suits demanding cylinder applications.

Press Release Summary:

Rated at pressures up to 6,000 psi, Disopac® DG bi-directional seal works in existing piston groove designs and applications where leakages or drifting is not permitted. It is available in variety of elastomeric energizers and is manufactured from Disogrin polyurethane, which offers wear and abrasion resistance. Rectangular energizer cross section provides uniform loading of seal with stability over O-ring energizers. Two-piece design facilitates installation.

Simrit Launches Disopac® DG Seal for Demanding Cylinder Applications

CHICAGO, March 7, 2005 - Simrit - the industrial products division of Plymouth, Mich.-based Freudenberg-NOK - has introduced Disopac® DG (deep groove) seal, a bi-directional seal designed for cylinder applications requiring minimum leakage and low drift performance.

This new technology can be seen at Simrit's booth (#1744) during the National Design Engineering Show being held here this week at McCormick Place.

"The Disopac DG seal brings innovation in material and design, and is the result of global collaboration between our expert engineers in Europe and North America," said David R. Monaco, president of Simrit. "Our sealing expertise reaches around the world and allows us to provide our customers with the latest in technology and value-based sealing solutions that are durable, reliable and offer superior performance - and Disopac DG is a perfect example."

Rated at pressures up to 6000 psi, the Disopac DG seal was created to work in existing piston groove designs and applications where leakage or drifting is not permitted. It is available in a variety of elastomeric energizers and is manufactured from Simrit's premium Disogrin polyurethane which offers enhanced wear and abrasion resistance, operates in wide temperature ranges and provides superior resilience.

The seal's two-piece design simplifies installation and reduces assembly time since resizing the seal is not required and the Disogrin polyurethane cap is resistant to installation damage. The robust sealing performance of Disopac DG is a result of several design factors:
o the material provides excellent wear resistance;
o fewer components means fewer potential leak paths, and;
o the rectangular energizer cross section provides uniform loading of the seal with improved stability over O-ring energizers.

A market leader in the aerospace, industrial and agriculture/construction market segments, Simrit draws from more than 150 years of experience and well-known brand names including Freudenberg®, NOK®, Disogrin®, Merkel and International Seal®.

The Simrit division is based at Freudenberg-NOK's headquarters in Plymouth, Mich. Freudenberg-NOK is part of the Freudenberg and NOK Group Companies, which have total annual sales of nearly $7 billion.
